  • Here's some more interesting pics....(I'm really milking this vacation, huh?)

Those little house there are da ghettos... I spent a lot of time there.  Needless to say people looked at me and my white friend, Jim a but funny when we rolled up in that piece!

They actually had a section (#9) of the beach that was a gay beach.  See the flag?  It was the most populated part of the beach and had the most people in the water.  It was actually pretty cool.

Any guess what this is?  Bleh!  Chicken Hearts!  My boy loved eating them.  Had like 15 at a time.  See the pulmonary valves?
     Brazil at night...Sweet.

I know its a tacky shirt, but we needed to wear this to the club we were at...

Ipanema's best kept secret?  My boy, Jimmy Jam...

Vogue?  Esquire? YM?  Nah...Nothing beats good 'ole Playboy in newstands

And you thought trolleys only belong in the Land of Make Believe.

More pictures to come!  C'mon, I got a whole week left!

  • The answer is...BRAZIL!!!

Well, actually Brasil.  But we Americans don't really know that.  Yup.  I guess that picture does look like I'm from Hong Kong.  Oh well.  Never been so I wouldn't know.  I thought that whole sitting on the stoop that Pharell and Snoop sat on in their song "Beautiful" was a dead giveaway.

Anyways it was a great time but I shoulda used sunscreen.  Man.  Can you say SUNBURN? I am dark now but that was from just the 1st day.  After that I used sunscreen, stayed in the shade, but I couldn't avoid it.  It was EVERYWHERE.  The sun that is. Running joke...

    Anybody: "How was Brazil?"
    Me: "It was hot."
    Anybody: "How hot was it?"
    Me: "EQUATOR HOT (literally).

I'll give fun stories and pix  but I'm pooped so I'll just give you some beach pictures to hold you off...

  • THE GATES opened this past weekend in NYC...

     BILL YOU SAY?
    NAH...

      THE GOLDEN ONES?
    NAH...

    These GATES...

This was created by the creative couple on the right.  They decided to pluck $21 million for this bad boy to be in Central Park from Feb 12th - Feb 27th.  The concept was developed in 1979 and granted permission in 2003. (Talk about a wait list!)  There are 7,500 gates all along the footpaths of the park.

Wait.  I'm sorry.  Did you say "21 MILLION DOLLARS?"

That's bananas!  For something that expen$ive they couldn't leave it a little longer?   .
I walked through 2 nights ago and was not impressed.  Maybe because I saw it at night?  Well you can't beat anything with the NYC backdrop in the background.

Ok, Ok I'll see it during the day.  Well, I got my chance when I took my kids to ice skate the next day.  Nah.  Felt the same.  I mean it looks like orange shower curtains all over the park.
Oops.   My bad.  I meant "Saffron".  Well, art IS subjective but it didn't impress this fellow New Yorker.  It did look kinda nice when there was a breeze and in the above black and white pictures but in color?...Nah.

Already we have dumbasses trying to run and jump and touch the shower curtains and knowing New Yorkers, 5 of them will probably be missing, 4 vandalized, 3 will be knocked over, 2 sold on Ebay and 1 put upside down.

    Now THAT'S art.  .

  • Tiring weekend.  Went out all 3 nights!  Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Exhausted man.

Little sushi action, some dancing, some bowling, some pool, some more dancing, some reading papers, and watched my friend's play which she choreographed and co-created.  It was great. It was 1.5 hours of all dance movement and no words all to jazz music.  Genius.

Look at the beer I drank.  Its like 3 beers in one!

  •  Can you say is a DUMB ASS ignorant b*tch?

If you haven't heard this by now, this DJ from HOT 97 played a song called the "Tsunami Song" all over the airwaves.  To sum it up in a nutshell, this song is making a mockeryof what happened in Southeast Asia.  You can hear for yourself.  Its pretty unbelievable:
    http://www.thesilent1.com/longer_hot97_tsunami.mp3

Miss Info, one of the DJ's of the morning show, who is of Chinese descent disagreed with the song but had to argue with these two dumbasses:
Todd Lynn and Miss Jones, who were abusive towards Miss Info and her opinions and claimed they should "start shooting asians".

Here is the front page of Hot 97's website:

OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON AIRING OF TSUNAMI PARODY SONG

HOT97 regrets the airing of material that made light of a serious and tragic event. We apologize to our listeners and anyone who was offended.

Both HOT97's program director and Miss Jones issued on-air apologies on Monday stating that the material was offensive and should not have been aired.

HOT97 takes pride in its community involvement and in the last few weeks has joined with broadcasters nationwide to raise money for victims of the Tsunami. Our relief effort will result in a substantial cash donation.

Fu*k that.  Lets get that b*tch fired.  Sign this petition if you feel strongly in this matter:

  • For all those who don't live in NYC...grrrr....

Got about 8 somewhat inches of snow the other day.  Sure is hard to get around.  I saw someone with ski poles and skis skiing across my avenue!!! X-Street skiing.  Who would've guessed? .  Don't get me wrong, one thing I treasure about NYC is having all 4 seasons, a White Christmas, etc... BUT...what people don't tell you about the snow is:

    - how hard it is to walk in the street when you are following other people's footsteps.
    - having to shovel the snow if you have a house (front and back) and then to have it snow AGAIN an hour later!
    - When the snow melts, its slushy for the next week.  Jeans getting wet, slush all over your house when you walk in, slippery conditions...
      I guess it pretty though!

P.S. : For all you people who know about my troubled coat rack fiasco (Jan.3 post)...
       I'm BACK BABY!

  • Ok.  I'm done fuming  about the "lost" entry.  Too long to bring it back.  Anyway I noticed something pretty funny the other day.  I was walking out of a Municipal Parking Lot on Monday when I noticed these two traffic officers walking around giving tickets.  I happened to overhear as Officer 1 walked up to Officer 2 and ask:

Officer 1: " Do I still give a ticket to someone who is parking in front of a sign that says NO PARKING on SUNDAY?"

    Officer 2: "Yes."

    Officer 1: "I don't understand.  Why?"

Officer 2: "Because it says EXCEPT Sunday.. Today is MONDAY!"

    .
I guess everone has to learn sometime.  I wonder how many tickets that person didn't give out.  Guess some rookie won't be reaching their quota!
