  • Very fun day yesterday.  Found one of the hidden spots in NY from my boy Jimmy Jam.   This place was crazy.   When you first walk in, there is this huge space.  I got there at around 3:30 p.m. and there were a bunch of people there already.  The picture I took on the right was a huge man made structure out of bamboo shoots.  It covered at least half of the space.  You cannot see this in the picture, but this section was where people cooled off.  Attached to these bamboos were devices that sprayed mists of water to anyone around.  Very clever.  There were other

amenities too.  There was a Mini Planetarium looking Room and a room that was just filled with sand [see left].  I like to call that the Beach Room.  What else…oh yeah, there is a dance floor where there are several DJ’s and a live band [R].  Probably my favorite part was the

Wading Pool.  That was pretty hot.  It got pretty crowded

but it was nice.  I’m not sure how sanitary it was but it looked pretty dope.  I got a chance to put my dawgs in the pool.  The inside was great for all you Modern Art lovers out there.  [BTW, you can't take pictures,  oops].  So this piece of art

was one of the more impressive ones [R].  It was a compilation of 4 blue plastic bags suspended by some wires.  Brilliant!  [Rrrrrright].  Ok, it’s subjective…”What do you see?“  Anyways the rain came for a bit and it was real cool.  The beer served was only Brooklyn Lager and Pilsner [nice!].  As you can see [R], it got mad packed at about 5 p.m.   That was the dance floor!  And guess what?  You gotta go thru the dance floor to go to the bathroom!  Damn

Of course, what would my entry be without a celebrity siting?  Well, U2′s…BONO was in ‘da house.  Needless to say, it was pretty hot.  A great mix of people and a good time.  I’m curious to know what NY’ers know about this place?  It happens every Saturday.  I would tell you, but then I would have to kill you.

  • Hooray for Queens! PS 1 of course. I actually haven’t had a chance to go the Warm Up this summer. Eeesh. I should try to take advantage of all the summer fun before it ends.

  • wow, i wish we had places like that in San Francisco. where is it…??? what is it??? i’m going to NY for New Years, i’d kind of like more of a reason to go, because right now… i have no clue what i’m going to do there.

  • that place sounds really cool.

  • So where’s this sick place out? Spill it out.

  • I just got back from NYC too. ^_^

  • The life of the rich and famous?? =)

  • wtf… i so don’t know enough about my city!

  • i have to know where this is! i’m gonna get it out of you!

  • ………………………………….

your life is so (*&^%^*&%*&* interesting, and i hate you for it.

well… uhhh…i went to the movies this weekend..so THERE!

  • hahahah… that looks and sounds like fun… welll.. parts of it.. i still don’t get the blue bag thing.. i wouldn’t really want it in my room or my house.. more likely. my brother would use it to either throw garbage in or store junk in. actually.. i would too.. hahhaa… some art. oh well.. blue bags are blue bags.

i wouldn’t mind visiting it but i don’t live in NY. =( oh well… it’s okay – i’ll stay in vancouver(home sweet home) but of course.. i wouldn’t mind travelling somewhere.. maybe someday soon.. but with someone to guide me… i wouldn’t want to be lost and tricked out of the shirt on my back and that type of thing.

i want that bamboo thing in my backyard.. i wonder… if i had enough cash and supplies… would i be able to build that on my own?? or maybe i could just do an imitation so something like it but not quite.. what material is better than bamboo but not a sterile, man-made substance like steel or something???? maybe i could wait until i have a bigger backyard.. i’d have to say.. my house is not very impressive but it’s typical urban house i guess. meh. maybe i could build something on my front lawn.. but mother might get all huffy about it looking bad or something… bleh. “what would the neighbours think?” yaddy yaddy yadda… maybe i’ll just ask her to grow me a fortress with pretty flowers and deadly hornets/wasps that i sometimes stupidly mistaken for innocent yet dangerous bumble bees. hahahha…

    i’m so odd

    *wave*

  • sup Felix?! Yea, you’re having a great summer and that’s good. When you have time we should play a ball game.

  • hot… **propZz**

  • so, no toes stepped on eh? does this mean you’re single ;) lol

  • summer of 2001, i headed to ps1 almost every weekend for warm up. they had this dope ass installation of beds. so in addition to crazy djs and beach like areas you could go inside and rest on a bed. each bed had a set of headphones and you were supposed to lie on the bed and listen to the sounds. each bead and headphone had a different sound.
